Walking In Divine Assignment
You Were Born For This!

You Are Not Here By Accident
Let me say something to you today that I need you to receive deep in your spirit —
You are not a mistake.
Not your birth. Not your background. Not your struggles. Not even your failures. Every single detail of your life has been carefully woven together by a God who does not make mistakes, does not waste pain, and does not forget His children.
Before your parents knew your name, Heaven had already written your story.
Before the doctor announced your arrival, God had already assigned your purpose.
Before you took your first breath, eternity had already marked you for greatness.
This is not motivational talk. This is the eternal Word of the living God:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5
If God said it to Jeremiah, He is saying it to you today. You were known before you were formed. You were sanctified before you were born. You were ordained before you took your first step.
That is not ordinary. That is divine.
Stop Apologising For Being Alive
Too many believers are living apologetically — shrinking back, playing small, hiding their gifts, silencing their voices — as if their very existence is an inconvenience to the world.
Not you. Not today.
You carry something the world has never seen before and will never see again. There is a voice inside you that only you can release. There is a work inside you that only you can do. There is a generation waiting for what God has placed inside you — and they are running out of time.
The Apostle Paul was not being poetic when he wrote these words. He was declaring a cosmic truth:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
— Ephesians 2:10
You are God’s masterpiece. The Greek word is poiema — the root of our word poem. You are a divine poem. A carefully crafted expression of God’s creativity, wisdom, and intentionality.
And you were not created to sit on a shelf. You were created to walk — to move, to act, to impact, to transform.
The Burning Question
“Pastor Ken, I believe God has a plan for me. But I genuinely do not know what it is. I feel stuck. I feel lost. I feel like everyone around me is moving forward while I am standing still.”
Three Things Stealing Your Assignment
There are three thieves that break into the lives of believers and steal their divine assignment before they even begin:
— The Lie That You Are Not Enough
The enemy has been whispering the same lie since the Garden of Eden —
“You are not qualified. You are not educated enough. You are not gifted enough. You are not ready. You are too young. You are too old. You have too many mistakes in your past.”
And if you listen long enough, you will believe it.
But listen to what God says back to every single one of those lies:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
Your weakness is not a disqualifier. It is an invitation for God’s strength to show up and show off. The very place where you feel most inadequate is often the exact place where God wants to demonstrate His glory through your life.
Moses had a stuttering problem. God made him the greatest prophet in Israel’s history.
Gideon called himself the least in his family. God called him a mighty man of valour.
David was the youngest, smallest, most overlooked shepherd boy. God made him the greatest king Israel ever knew.
You are enough — because God is more than enough.
— The Prison of Other People’s Opinions
Nothing has buried more destinies than the fear of what people will say.
You have a God-given dream in your heart — and every time you are about to step out in faith, the voice of someone’s opinion pulls you back. Maybe it is a family member. Maybe it is a friend. Maybe it is a memory of someone who laughed at your dreams years ago.
And so you stay silent. You stay small. You stay safe.
But safe is not where your assignment lives.
“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”
— Proverbs 29:25
The people whose opinions you are afraid of will not stand before God to give account for your life. You will. And on that day, the only opinion that will matter is His.
Do not let the noise of human voices drown out the voice of the One who called you.
— The Comfort of Waiting For Perfect Conditions
Let me tell you something nobody else will tell you —
The perfect moment is not coming.
The perfect finances are not coming. The perfect opportunity is not coming. The perfect season where everything lines up perfectly before you take a step of faith — it is not coming.
You know what is coming? The day you stand before God and He asks you what you did with what He gave you.
Moses did not have perfect conditions. He had a burning bush and a stuttering tongue and an impossible mission — and he went anyway.
Esther did not have perfect conditions. She had a death threat hanging over her head — and she went anyway.
Noah did not have perfect conditions. He had never seen rain — and he built the ark anyway.
Your conditions do not determine your assignment. Your obedience does.
Take the step. God will meet you in the movement.
Three Keys To Walking In Your Assignment
1. Discover It In The Word
Your divine assignment will always be consistent with Scripture. The Word of God is not just a history book — it is a mirror that shows you who you truly are and a map that shows you where you are going.
Spend time in the Word not just for information but for revelation. Ask the Holy Spirit to make it come alive. Let God speak to you personally through its pages every single day.
2. Develop It In Prayer
Prayer is where assignment is refined. In the place of prayer, God gives you clarity when you are confused, courage when you are afraid, and confirmation when you are doubting.
Your prayer life is not optional — it is the engine room of your divine assignment. Every great move of God in your life will be traced back to a moment of surrender in prayer.
Do not neglect it. Protect it. Guard it with everything you have.
3. Demonstrate It In Action
At some point — and that point is today — you must move.
Faith is not a feeling. Faith is a decision followed by action. The moment you take a step of obedience — no matter how small, no matter how shaky, no matter how uncertain — Heaven begins to align people, resources, and circumstances around your assignment.
As I always say at Faith Ignited:
This Is Your Moment
I do not know what you have been through to get to this point. I do not know what battles you have fought, what tears you have cried, what dreams you buried because life got hard.
But I know this —
God has not forgotten you.
He has not abandoned your assignment. He has not given your calling to someone else. He has not run out of plans for your life. He is not surprised by your past, intimidated by your failures, or limited by your circumstances.
He is the God who calls things that are not as though they are. He is the God who makes rivers in the desert and roads in the wilderness. He is the God who specialises in turning setbacks into setups and tests into testimonies.
And right now, in this very moment, He is looking at you — just as He looked at Gideon hiding in the winepress, just as He looked at Peter sinking in the water, just as He looked at the dry bones in Ezekiel’s valley — and He is saying:
“Rise up. This is your moment. Walk in your divine assignment.”
You are not too late. You are not too broken. You have not missed it.
The world is waiting for you. Heaven is backing you. And God is with you every step of the way.
Now walk.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.”
— Psalm 37:23
A Declaration For You Today
I am not an accident. I am not a mistake. I was created on purpose, for a purpose, with a purpose. Fear does not control me. People’s opinions do not define me. My past does not limit me. I walk boldly in my divine assignment today — knowing that the God who called me is faithful to complete what He has started in me. In Jesus name. Amen!
